SOMC currently offers pharmacy services at six locations: Our Main Campus, Discharge, and South Campus pharmacies in Portsmouth, along with our pharmacies in West Union, Wheelersburg, and Vanceburg, KY. We now also offer a medication pickup location in Ironton. Anyone is free to take advantage of the convenience and wide array of services that SOMC pharmacies are proud to offer. You do not need to be an established SOMC patient in order to let us serve you!

Our pharmacies in West Union, Wheelersburg, and at our South Campus can make sure your medications are ready quickly after being seen! In addition to this, our discharge pharmacy is ideally located beside the Emergency Department on our main campus and can also make sure to take care of all your pharmacy needs before you leave.

Meds to Beds

SOMC patients also benefit from our "Meds to Beds" program that is offered throughout the hospital. Through this program, patients are able to receive their medications at their bedside, as opposed to receiving a prescription they must take to a pharmacy.

The SOMC Discharge Pharmacy is conveniently located inside the main hospital just across the hall from the Emergency Department. In addition to our regular pharmacy services (free medication packaging services, free delivery, specialty pharmacy services, immunizations, and a large selection of over-the-counter medication offerings), we also offer a "Meds to Beds" program. This program allows us to deliver a patient’s medications directly to their bedside before being discharged from the hospital. Thus, allowing them easier and more efficient access to their medications. Our convenient location beside the Emergency Department also allows us to serve patients seen in the Emergency Department more efficiently. Upon completing their visit with the providers in the Emergency Room, they can quickly stop by the pharmacy on their way out and pick up their prescriptions.
